Alain & Bastien BLANCHARD (ABC Com), haben einen ersten Kracher für die EnduroGP Saison 2018 bekannt gegeben. Mit “TheWall” zieht erstmals ein Extremenduro in das höchste Prädikat des Enduro Zirkus ein.
Bereits in diesem Jahr waren mit dem Päijänne Enduro in Finland sowie dem Rennen in England ( nächster WM Lauf ) neue Formate in die Enduro WM eingezogen.
The Wall im Off-Road Park of Pietramurata in Italien wird damit erstmals ein Extremenduro in die WM bringen. Fest steht auch bereits der Termin am 30.06.2018.
Alain Blanchard: “Unser Ziel ist es, spannende Rennplätze zu finden die Zuschauer anziehen werden. Wir wollten dem Kalender kein Rennen hinzufügen, das so extrem wäre, dass die Fahrer Hilfe von der Öffentlichkeit oder Streckenposten benötigen, oder sie körperlich gefährden. Sie sollen sich ebenfalls nicht wie im Zirkus vorkommen. Deshalb ist “The Wall” eine perfekte Ergänzung. Es ist ein Hard Enduro Rennen, das in den EnduroGP Kalender integriert werden kann. Es wird ein sehr körperliches Rennen sein und sehr technisch, aber nicht unmöglich, und es wird unseren Sport und seine Ethik bestens demonstrieren. “
Last year the FIM and ABC Communications decided to open the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship calendar up to include new race formats, as has been demonstrated in 2017 with the addition of the rally-style Päijänne Enduro in Finland at the end of March, and the forthcoming GP of the United Kingdom (which will feature an Enduro Sprint on Saturday and GNCC on Sunday)...
For next season, the FIM and Alain & Bastien BLANCHARD (ABC Com), with the support of Alex SALVINI and Giovanni COPIOLI (FMI President), have found an agreement with the Off-Road Park of Pietramurata in Italy, to add a Hard Enduro race to the 2018 calendar!
"The Wall" was created in 2015 under the initiative of Umberto TRENTINI and his daughter Sara, who is a multiple Italian Trials Champion. While Extreme riders Jonny WALKER (GB - KTM) and Alfredo GOMEZ (E - KTM) have won the first two editions, this event also attracts EnduroGP riders such as Alex SALVINI (I - Beta), Ivan CERVANTES (E - KTM), Thomas OLDRATI (I - Husqvarna) and Davide GUARNERI (I - Honda).
This year the venue plays host to the Trial GP on the 16th and 17th of September, and the third edition of The Wall Hard Enduro in October. Off-Road Park is very active in various different disciplines of off-road competition, and the team were immediately interested in the opportunity to make 'The Wall' a part of the 2018 EnduroGP Grand Prix calendar.
Alain BLANCHARD: “Our objective is to find exciting racing venues which will attract spectators. We did not want to add a race to the calendar which would be so extreme that the riders would require help from the public or marshals, or that would endanger them physically, or be so impossible that it would turn into a sort of circus. That’s why "The Wall" is a perfect addition; it is a Hard Enduro race that can be integrated into EnduroGP. It will be a very physical race and very technical, but not impossible, and it will demonstrate our sport and its ethics in the best way.”
So we’ll meet on Saturday 30 June 2018 at the Off-Road Park of Pietramurata, in Italy’s Trento region, for an exciting and innovative Trentino GP, where we should see Extreme riders such as WALKER, JARVIS and GOMEZ challenge against the likes of HOLCOMBE, LARRIEU, WATSON, and SALVINI!
